Humanities - ARTH 2727 Renaissance/ Contemporary
This Class introduced us to the many different forms of art from the early renaissance to the contemporary era. We were visually able to see the different styles of art, learn about the artists, as well as learn about the different cultures that influenced art throughout time. Reflection
The assignment that I chose to include on this page was our term paper. In this paper we were asked to visit a local gallery or museum and pick an original piece of art from one of the periods that we studied throughout the semester. I chose to write on a piece by Ralph Albert Blakelock titled "Silvery Night". I was relatively surprised at the information that I was able to come across on this seemingly simple painting of a moon lit sky over a lake. I was personally able to look at the painting and be able to look at it in a whole different way than probably before. Using the knowledge that I have gained through this class, I was able to understand some of the artists techniques. |  |
